ELDT “theory” courses are required for drivers getting a CDL A or B, upgrading from a B to an A, or obtaining a hazmat endorsement.
SBV Expedite & Logistics is an approved FMCSA Training Provider, so by taking the course below, you will be completing your “theory” requirement. There is no required time to complete any course.
Courses are completed when you successfully complete all tests at an 80% correct level. Upon completion of a course, your results will be submitted to the Training Provider Registry (TPR).
Important Note: In addition to the theory portion of a CDL Course there is also a hands-on behind-the-wheel skills training that must also be completed before taking a CDL exam. Both the theory and the behind-the-wheel must be completed within 12 months of each other.
FMCSA has established minimum training standards for individuals applying for their Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) for the first time. These individuals are subject to the entry-level driver training (ELDT) requirements and must complete a prescribed program of instruction provided by an approved training provider listed on FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR). This course is intended to meet all theory (knowledge) requirements listed in the federal regulation 49 CFR Part 380, Special Training Requirements, and includes Sections covering Basic Operation, Safe Operating Procedures, Advanced Operating Practices, Vehicle Systems, and Reporting Malfunctions, and Non-Driving Activities. Course access is limited to 90 days from the date of purchase.

For trainees seeking a Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement to operate CMVs used in the transportation of hazardous materials as defined in § 383.5. Trainees seeking an H endorsement must complete this curriculum in order to take the State-administered knowledge test for the H endorsement. Course access is limited to 30 days from the date of purchase.
